2007 BUILDING TWO MORE HOUSES FOR TSUNAMI VICTIMS!
 
We are pleased to inform you that we have ordered two more houses to be built for Tsunami victims in Sri Lanka from the funds raised by the Windsor Buddhist Vihara during the aftermath of the disaster in December 2004.

The houses are being built under the supervision of The Foundation of Goodness. Construction of the first house in Madampe is in progress (see picture below). The second house is expected to be built in Thotagamuwa. The recipients of these homes are directly involved in the construction of their homes. These homes cost about $3,500 each.

The Foundation of Goodness is a charitable organization in Sri Lanka involved in rehabilitating victims of the tsunami disaster. Kushil Gunesekara, Muttiah Muralidaran, and Chaminda Vaas are among the Trustees of the Foundation. In acknowledging our generous contribution, Kushil wrote: “It is with extreme gratitude that we thank you for your most generous contribution…”

The Foundation has constructed 510 homes in Seenigama and neighbouring villages, repaired over 400 partly damaged homes, provided livelihood opportunities to almost 500 villagers, attended to the needs of thousands of village children, constructed a modern sports complex with cricket venue, indoor cricket nets, a 25 meter swimming pool and etc, etc!!!!
